Cherry soup (Hungarian)

Description

Hearty and aromatic soup. Add cherries, wine, sugar, and cinnamon to a pot of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for 25–30 minutes, until the berries soften. Remove from heat and stir in almond extract. In a separate bowl, mix sour cream with a few tablespoons of cream, then transfer to the pot with cherries. Serve hot or cold.
