Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients. You can use any meat cuts for the soup; I'm using ribs.
- 2
Step 2

If you have meat, cut it into pieces; if using ribs, cut them into portions. It's most convenient to cook in a cauldron or any thick-bottomed pot.
- 3
Step 3

Sauté the meat with salt and spices until cooked through.
- 4
Step 4

Add the diced onion and carrot. My carrot was small, so I simply sliced it into rounds.
- 5
Step 5

Sauté the vegetables for 10 minutes and add the tomatoes cut into wedges.
- 6
Step 6

Simmer everything together for another 3-5 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Then add the diced potatoes and rinsed rice.
- 8
Step 8

Pour in water (the amount of water depends on the desired soup thickness), season with salt, and cook until all ingredients are done.
- 9
Step 9

Uzbek rice soup is ready.
- 10
Step 10

Serve the dish with fresh herbs.
