Description

A hearty and aromatic soup. If you're preparing pike soup for adults, be sure to add an uncut chili pepper pod while cooking. You can also pour 50 ml of good-quality vodka into the broth at the end of cooking—this is especially appropriate on cold, frosty days.

    Prepare the listed ingredients. It is advisable to use pike head and other parts of the fish for the soup. Rinse the fish parts thoroughly and remove the gills from the head. Peel the potatoes, onion, and carrots, then rinse them in water.

    Place the washed fish pieces into a cauldron or pot. Cut the potatoes and carrots into medium cubes, and slice the onion into half-rings. Add everything to the container with the fish.

    Rinse the millet thoroughly in several changes of water to remove its bitterness. If this grain is not well rinsed, it will impart a bitter taste to your hot dish!

    Add the washed millet to the cauldron, and add bay leaves.

    Pour in hot water and boil everything for about 20 minutes.

    Rinse the tomato and fresh herbs, and peel the garlic cloves. Cut the tomato into large cubes, removing the green core. Finely chop the herbs and garlic. Add everything to the fish soup along with salt and ground black pepper. Optionally, you can also add fish or vegetable seasoning. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
