Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Scale the pike and remove the entrails, take out the gills from the head, and rinse thoroughly. Cut the fish into pieces — for the soup, the main parts are the head, tail, and belly fins (these are fatty). Peel the potatoes, onion, and carrots, then rinse them.

Step 2

Place the pieces of pike into a pot or cauldron. If desired, you can cut them into smaller pieces—they will cook faster.

Step 3

Cut the potatoes into medium cubes and the carrots into large slices. Add them to the container and pour in hot water. Place the container on the stove and bring the contents to a boil. Then reduce the heat to medium and remove any foam that forms.

Step 4

Boil the pike with vegetables for about 15 minutes. Then cut the washed tomatoes into large slices, chop the onion. Add to the soup along with spices or salt, and bay leaves.

Step 5

Chop the parsley and slice the peeled garlic cloves, add them to the soup, and simmer for another 1-2 minutes. Taste the hot soup and adjust the seasoning if necessary.

Step 6

Pour the hot pike soup with tomatoes into bowls and serve with bread, baguette, or croutons. Enjoy your meal!
