Halibut Ukha
Description
A hearty first course. This is a fairly simple recipe for halibut soup, and in fact, you can make such soup with almost any kind of fish. I happened to have halibut fillet in my freezer, which I used to make a wonderful aromatic soup. It won't take you long to prepare, and soon you'll have a whole pot of rich, flavorful soup. Let's get started—here's the recipe for halibut soup. 1) Pour water into a pot and place over heat. When the water comes to a boil, add onion, bay leaf, and a small bunch of fresh herbs. 2) Cut potatoes into cubes and carrots into half-rings. Add both to the pot and cook for another 10 minutes. 3) Now remove the herb bunch from the soup. Cut the halibut into small pieces, add to the pot with the other ingredients, season with salt and spices, and cook for 20 minutes. 4) Ladle the ready soup into bowls, garnish with fresh herbs and a slice of lemon. Be sure to try making this wonderful dish—you'll be pleasantly surprised. The soup is ready to serve.
