Soup with dumplings
Description
The recipe won't take much time. If you want to prepare the soup with knedlach according to the classic Jewish recipe, you can use kosher meat instead of chicken, and matzo meal instead of regular flour. The soup is ready to serve.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Rinse the chicken drumsticks and place them over heat. Skim off the foam periodically. Prepare the batter as follows: sauté the onion until golden brown. Beat the egg into the milk, add the sifted flour, and mix in the onion.
- 2
Step 2

Knead a sticky dough and let it rest for 30 minutes. If the dough seems too runny to you—feel free to add flour.
- 3
Step 3

Prepare the sauté. To do this, chop the onion into small cubes and slice the pepper into thin strips. Grate the carrot on a coarse grater.
- 4
Step 4

Add the carrots to the heated oil; when they are slightly fried and give the oil a pleasant yellow color, add the onion and then the pepper.
- 5
Step 5

When the drumsticks are ready, strain the broth and separate the meat from the bones.
- 6
Step 6

After the broth comes to a boil again, add the potato cut into cubes and the meat.
- 7
Step 7

It's time to shape the dumplings. Take a little dough with a teaspoon and carefully drop it into the boiling soup. When the dumplings float to the surface, add the aromatic sauté and sprinkle with herbs.
- 8
Step 8

Serve this soup hot. I added a fresh tomato to each portion. It turned out tasty and beautiful.
