
Pea and ham soup
Description
We suggest preparing a very tasty and hearty soup with vegetables, peas, and ham hock. It's easy to make and freezes well. Delight your family with the wonderful flavor of this meat soup. Serve with fresh herbs and sour cream.

1. Pour 2 liters of water into a large pot and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat so the water barely simmers. Place the raw pork ham into the pot. Cook for 50 minutes. After 25 minutes of cooking, turn the ham over.

2. While the ham is cooking, start preparing the vegetables. Chop the onion, carrots, and celery into small cubes.

3. Place all the vegetables, peas, parsley, and garlic into a saucepan, pour in the broth, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat so that the soup barely simmers. Cook for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.

4. Remove the boiled ham from the pot and cut it into small cubes.

5. If you prefer a pureed soup, blend the vegetables in a blender and turn them into a puree before adding the ham hock. You can also mash the vegetables by hand.

6. Add the ham hock to the soup and heat through. Stir well and taste. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve the soup in deep plates and sprinkle with parsley. This soup can be frozen and will keep for about a month in the freezer.
