Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Rinse the lentils in water, drain the liquid.
- 3
Step 3

Pour the washed lentils into a saucepan. Peel the potatoes, onion, and carrots. Cut the potatoes into medium cubes and add them to the saucepan. Pour in hot water, place the saucepan on the stove, add bay leaves and salt, and cook for 20 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Grate the carrot on a fine grater, chop the onion into small cubes. Sauté everything in a skillet for 3-4 minutes, adding vegetable oil to the pan.
- 5
Step 5

Slice the sausages into rounds and place the slices in a frying pan, fry for about 1-2 minutes and turn off the heat.
- 6
Step 6

Place the sautéed mixture with sausages into the pot with the boiled ingredients. If there is too little water, add some more, but not to the brim of the container.
- 7
Step 7

Rinse the parsley and chop it finely, then add it to the pot. Simmer the soup for another minute and turn off the heat. If desired, at this point you can press a peeled garlic clove into the soup if you enjoy a piquant flavor.
- 8
Step 8

Turn off the heat and let the soup cool slightly—it will become thicker.
- 9
Step 9

Place it in deep plates and serve with croutons, crackers, black or rye bread.
