Wash the chicken fillet and place it in a saucepan. Pour water over it and bring to a boil. Cook for 20 minutes. For preparing solyanka, cut the onion into small cubes.

Grate the carrot on a coarse grater.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Sauté the onion in vegetable oil.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

When the onion is sautéed, add the carrots. Quickly stir the onion and carrots to prevent the onion from burning at the bottom. Reduce the heat and simmer together until the carrots are tender.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Add tomato paste to the sautéed vegetables. Mix well.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

While the pasta with vegetables is simmering, peel the pickled cucumbers and grate them on a coarse grater.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

Place the cucumbers in a separate saucepan, add a small amount of water, and bring to a boil over medium heat. As the water evaporates during cooking, keep adding water to the cucumbers, but cook them separately. If you combine the cucumbers with other vegetables, the vegetables will stop cooking due to the acid present in the cucumbers.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

We sell sets like this for solyanka.

  9. 9

    Step 9

    Step 9

Remove the contents from the package and add to the pan with the sauté. Stir. Simmer together for about 5–7 minutes. You can add a little water if needed.

  10. 10

    Step 10

    Step 10

We turn off the ready meat sauté and set it aside for now.

  11. 11

    Step 11

    Step 11

Peel the potatoes. Cut them into small pieces. Add the potatoes to the boiling broth. Remove the meat from the broth. Cut it into pieces and return it to the broth.

  12. 12

    Step 12

    Step 12

When the potatoes in the broth are almost ready, add the sautéed mixture to the broth, along with the separately boiled cucumbers and the water in which they were cooked.

  13. 13

    Step 13

    Step 13

Season with salt and pepper to taste. I add sugar to my solyanka to neutralize the acidity of tomatoes and pickles. You'll have to rely on your own taste preferences, as the pickles and tomato acidity vary. Pour the solyanka into bowls and serve.
