Description

We've all been there: you open a can of sprats, and instead of whole, neat little fish, you find almost a mushy mess. Don't be discouraged—such sprats can be turned into a delicious and hearty salad. You could even call it a "man's salad," since it's quick and easy to prepare, and men tend to love dishes like this. Just look:

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Sandwiches with sprats were planned, but the sprats in the can turned out to be crushed and not whole. However, they can be used to make a salad.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Place the eggs to boil hard, and the potatoes to cook in their skins until done. Drain as much oil as possible from the canned fish, transfer the sprats to a plate, and mash them with a fork. Set aside a couple of fish fillets to decorate the salad.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

    Peel the boiled eggs.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Grate the yolks on a fine or medium grater

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

And we will finely chop the egg whites with a knife.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

We also dice the pickled or salted cucumber into small cubes.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

And we start assembling the salad, which will be layered. Place the boiled potatoes as the first layer and spread mayonnaise over it.

  9. 9

    Step 9

    Step 9

As the second layer, place the chopped sprats. If you couldn't completely remove the oil, you don't need to spread the potato layer with mayonnaise. The oil from the fish will perfectly soak into the potato layer.

  10. 10

    Step 10

    Step 10

Next, layer the egg whites and spread mayonnaise over them.

  11. 11

    Step 11

    Step 11

Then we place the sliced cucumbers.

  12. 12

    Step 12

    Step 12

And sprinkle with crushed egg yolks. Garnish the salad with reserved fish and a sprig of greens. Refrigerate for at least an hour.
