Peel the potatoes and cut them into fairly large pieces. Pour hot water over the mushrooms and let them sit for 15 minutes. Then slice the mushrooms into strips, but do not discard the water.

Place the mushrooms and potatoes in a pot, pour in 1.2 liters of plain water and the water in which the mushrooms were soaked. Bring to a boil, add spices, and cook for 25 minutes. Ten minutes after the broth comes to a boil, add thoroughly rinsed buckwheat.
