Cabbage soup with Chinese cabbage
Description
Cabbage soup made from Chinese (or Napa) cabbage is easy to prepare. Any homemaker who knows how to cook soups will handle this task perfectly. Even if you're cooking it for the first time, with this recipe you definitely won't be left hungry. Serve the soup hot.

Step 1

We will need chicken (whole, half, or any part). We'll make broth from it. We need to boil it with salt, then take it out. Add bay leaf, pepper, and dried herbs.

Step 2

Now chop the washed and peeled vegetables. Cut the potatoes and onion into cubes. Grate the carrots and garlic on a grater. Pour sunflower oil into a heated frying pan and sauté the onion with carrots.

Step 3

Meanwhile, add the potatoes to the pot with the broth. Cook for 10 minutes. Slice the Napa cabbage. Now add the sautéed mixture and the chopped Napa cabbage stems to the pot.

Step 4

In ten minutes, add grated garlic and chopped leaves of Chinese cabbage to the soup. I add the top of the Chinese cabbage at the very end, as it is very tender. Cook for another five minutes. At the end, throw in the fresh herbs.

Step 5

You can let the soup sit for about half an hour. This allows the ingredients and their juices to settle. During this time, the borscht develops its so-called "soul." Serve with sour cream!
