Herring under a fur coat in lavash
Description
The recipe won't take much time. I wanted to set a bright, festive, and original New Year's table. I've never prepared anything like this before. It was a pleasant experiment, and I really liked the result and, of course, the taste of the dish. Do try it yourself. Serve it at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Divide the lavash sheet into 2 parts. For 1 roll serving 4-6 people, we will need 3 large oval lavash sheets.
- 2
Step 2

Place half a sheet of lavash onto a sheet of foil (be sure to use foil). Spread mayonnaise over it. Do not use too much mayonnaise—just lightly coat the lavash.
- 3
Step 3

Peel the boiled beet and grate it finely. Spread the beet in an even layer over the entire piece of lavash.
- 4
Step 4

Cover with a second piece of lavash. Spread mayonnaise on the lavash.
- 5
Step 5

Peel and grate the boiled carrot finely. Spread it evenly over the entire lavash sheet. Cover with a new piece of lavash. This will be the third layer (the third half of the lavash).
- 6
Step 6

Grate the boiled eggs on a grater. Place them onto the lavash and spread evenly. Cover with another sheet of lavash. I didn't salt any of the layers, as there's enough salt in the mayonnaise and herring. If it's not salty enough for you, season each layer to taste.
- 7
Step 7

On a new layer of lavash, place finely chopped herbs.
- 8
Step 8

Remove bones and skin from salted or lightly salted herring. Cut the fish meat into small cubes and place it on the edge of the layered lavash structure.
- 9
Step 9

Lift the edge of the lavash with foil. Roll the lavash into a roll using the foil. If you use only your hands, the lavash will crack and the filling will fall out. When using foil, this does not happen.
- 10
Step 10

Wrap the roll in foil and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- 11
Step 11

Slice the entire roll at once. Arrange on a serving plate and serve. A bright, colorful, and festive version of "Herring under a Fur Coat" in lavash is ready.
