Herring under a fur coat with egg
Description
Minimum effort — excellent result. This is a herring under a fur coat version with eggs. You can clean the herring by hand, or use ready-to-eat marinated herring and just slice it. Boil the vegetables until tender, then cool and grate them on a medium grater. Ready to serve immediately.

Step 1

1. Today, ready-made herring fillets are sold in stores, and many people use herring in this form. I prefer the classic way of preparing herring under a fur coat. I always clean the fish by hand, which takes me up to an hour. Place the sliced pieces into the dish where we will assemble the salad.

Step 2

2. Chop the green onion (you can use onion, but then the onion flavor will be pronounced).
- 3
Step 3

3. Spread mayonnaise, sprinkle with onions, and spread mayonnaise again. While the salad is marinating, the onions will have time to pickle.
- 4
Step 4

4. While cleaning the herring, use this time to boil the vegetables in their skins and the eggs. Once cooled, grate everything on a medium grater. The next layer after the onion is potatoes.

Step 5

5. Then — carrots and again mayonnaise.

Step 6

6. The next layer is eggs (you can set aside a few yolks to decorate the top, but this is optional).
- 7
Step 7

7. The last layer is beet. Generously spread each layer with mayonnaise.

Step 8

8. Let the salad marinate for at least 5 hours, then serve.
