Salad
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Almost any beginner cook can prepare the "Sushi" salad. Despite its name, it has almost nothing to do with Japanese cuisine—the only similarity lies perhaps in a few common ingredients. The salad is layered and served with soy sauce, ginger, or wasabi. In principle, the number of layers and the ingredients used can be varied. The essential components are nori, rice, and cheese. Philadelphia cheese can be substituted with any soft cream cheese or cottage cheese. The main thing is the idea itself! I hope you'll enjoy it! It can be served both for everyday meals and festive occasions. Serve and enjoy!
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Cook sushi rice or any other sticky rice according to the package instructions. I used 200 g of rice and 500 ml of water. Brought it to a boil, reduced the heat, and simmered for another 10 minutes without stirring. Then let it steep, covered, for another 10 minutes. Once the rice is ready, mix vinegar, sugar, and salt, then add this dressing to the rice. Gently stir and let it cool.

Step 3

Cut the red fish into small pieces.
- 4
Step 4

Slice the cucumber thinly.
- 5
Step 5

Cut the nori sheets to the size of the dish you'll use to serve the salad using kitchen scissors. The dish can be round or rectangular; if you're serving on a square plate, you can leave the sheets whole, though this may require slightly more ingredients. Place the first nori sheet with the rough side facing up.
- 6
Step 6

With wet hands, carefully spread a thin layer of rice on top.
- 7
Step 7

Spread the rice with cheese.
- 8
Step 8

Place cucumber slices in a single layer on top.
- 9
Step 9

Place fish pieces on the cucumbers. Sprinkle the fish lightly with sesame seeds.
- 10
Step 10

Repeat the layers once more. You should end up with 3 sheets of nori and 3 layers of filling. Decorate the top of the salad as you like. Place the salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to chill.
