
Steak Salad
Description
A simple dish to prepare. This hearty salad with slices of steak on top can satisfy even the strongest hunger. Serve chilled.

1. To prepare the marinade, mix all the ingredients in a bowl with a lid. Shake vigorously and add additional seasonings to taste. Place the steak in a resealable plastic bag. Pour in half of the marinade and seal. Refrigerate and marinate for at least two hours.

2. To make onion rings, thinly slice the onion into rings. Place in a baking dish, cover with buttermilk, and let stand for about 1 hour.

3. Make candied pecans. Spread the nuts on a baking sheet, silicone mat, or a sheet of parchment paper. Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan or skillet over medium heat. Cook until amber-colored, about 5–6 minutes. Pour the mixture over the pecans and immediately stir to evenly coat the nuts. Let cool completely.

4. Make onion rings. Mix the dry ingredients and set aside. Heat oil in a skillet. Take a portion of the onion, add it to the flour mixture, shake off the excess, and dip into the hot oil. Fry for a few minutes until golden brown, then place on a paper towel.

5. Grill the steak for about 2 minutes on each side. Let it cool slightly and slice into thin pieces.

6. In a large bowl, combine the salad mix, blue cheese, and cherry tomatoes. Add some of the marinade and toss. Add more marinade if needed. Add the candied pecans and toss again.

7. Place the salad onto plates. Top with slices of beef steak and onion rings. Serve immediately.
