Salad with cod liver without mayonnaise
Description
Classic liver pâté salad recipe without mayonnaise, as the pâté itself is quite fatty and its oil works perfectly as a dressing. If desired, you can use a small amount of sour cream, especially if the salad is served on a shared platter rather than in tartlets.

Step 1

1. To shorten the salad preparation time, boil the potatoes in their skins and the eggs in advance. Cool the potatoes well, peel and grate finely. Drain the oil from the liver into a small container and mash the liver with a fork.

Step 2

2. Peel the cooled eggs and grate them on a grater. If desired, the ingredients for the homemade mayonnaise-free cod liver salad can be cut into small cubes instead of grating, but the salad turns out incredibly tender precisely when the ingredients are grated.

Step 3

3. Green peas are an additional ingredient and only a small amount is needed—literally 2 tablespoons will be enough.

Step 4

4. Cut the pickled cucumbers into small cubes. In the recipe for liver pâté salad without mayonnaise, they can be omitted and replaced, for example, with olives or capers.

Step 5

5. Combine the liver, potatoes, eggs, cucumbers, and peas. Mix thoroughly, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Dress with the liver oil and serve. Tartlets are an excellent option, as they are not only attractive but also convenient.
