Step 1

Boil the chicken breast. Place a pot of water on the stove, bring to a boil, add salt, and put the meat in. Cook for about 15 minutes over medium heat. If you'd like a slightly richer salad, you can use smoked or roasted chicken. It will pair wonderfully with the apple.

Step 2

Remove the cooked meat, let it cool, then cut into small pieces. Transfer to a bowl. Boiled chicken breast is dry on its own, but when combined with apples, onions, and dressing, it becomes very tender and juicy.

Step 3

To make the salad not only tasty but also attractive, use red apples and red onion. Cut the onion in half and peel it. Wash the apples, cut them in half, and remove the cores with a knife. Dice the apples and onion into small cubes and add them to the bowl with the chicken meat.

Step 4

Now my favorite part—making the dressing. The dressing comes together very quickly. Add mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, and wine vinegar to a bowl and mix well. The dressing is ready. The dressing for a salad is like a dress for a woman. The same set of ingredients can easily become completely different salads in terms of flavor. The dressing highlights the best qualities and adds what's missing.

Step 5

Add the grapes to the bowl where the chicken breast, onion, and apples have already been marinating. To be honest, this ingredient is quite controversial for me, but I include it because my husband loves it. That said, the salad can easily do without raisins. Add the dressing, ground pepper, salt to the bowl, and mix everything together. That's it—the salad is ready. To allow all the ingredients to absorb the flavors well, let the salad chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
