Chicken and mushroom salad
Description
Perfect for everyday meals. In any salad, the key is the combination of ingredients and dressing. The chicken and mushroom salad made at home is great because it contains nothing superfluous, and the nuts add a special piquancy—usually walnuts are used, but you can take any other nuts. Garnish as desired and serve.

Step 1

1. First, start by preparing the ingredients. Wash the chicken breast and place it in a pot with cold water. Once it comes to a boil, skim off the foam and continue cooking until done. Then let it cool and slice into thin strips or cubes.

Step 2

2. Next, the recipe for chicken and mushroom salad moves on to the second important ingredient—mushrooms. They need to be cleaned and rinsed. Slice them thinly and transfer to a frying pan with a small amount of vegetable oil. Fry until fully cooked, and 5 minutes before the end of cooking, season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 3

3. Place the sliced chicken breast at the bottom of the salad bowl. Lightly season with pepper to taste.

Step 4

4. Place a little sour cream or mayonnaise on the chicken. Wash and dry fresh herbs, chop them finely, and add to the salad bowl.

Step 5

5. Top with some finely chopped onion. If desired, the onion can be marinated beforehand or scalded with boiling water to remove its bitterness. Next, add a layer of fried mushrooms, which should be slightly cooled first. Whether or not to cover the mushrooms with mayonnaise is a matter of personal preference.

Step 6

6. Next comes a layer of chopped or grated hard-boiled eggs. Spread mayonnaise (or sour cream) generously on top. Lightly crush the nuts, but not into powder, and sprinkle them over the top. That's it—the chicken and mushroom salad is ready. Now you can refrigerate it for a while before serving.
