This salad in our family is usually prepared for winter holidays—it's quite hearty, while in summer we prefer salads made with fresh vegetables. The combination of chicken and prunes in this salad works very well; all the ingredients complement each other perfectly. The taste turns out to be mildly sweet, and if you'd like to add something extra to the salad, pickled cucumbers would be the best choice. Grate them and add another layer to this dish.     Peel the onion and carrot. Grate the carrot on a grater, chop the onion into cubes.

    Sauté the onion and carrots in vegetable oil until the carrots are tender.
