Chicken salad
Description
A simple dish to prepare. Let's start making this delicious salad! By the way, I found the recipe for the chicken salad "Chrysanthemum" in a magazine, and my kind aunt taught me how to make the "Chrysanthemum" itself. Let's begin. 1. First, make the "Chrysanthemum" from onion. The size of the onion bulb will determine the size of your "Chrysanthemum." Peel the onion and cut about 5 mm off both the top and bottom. Cut the onion from the top into several equal-width sections, but do not cut all the way through—just make incisions. Place the cut onion into a cup of water. After about an hour, the "Chrysanthemum" will bloom open. A real miracle! While the "Chrysanthemum" is blooming, let's prepare the salad. 2. Boil the vegetables. Put the carrots and potatoes on to cook. You can even boil them in their skins. 3. Wash the chicken fillet, cut it into small pieces, and fry. 4. Put the eggs on to boil. 5. Finely chop the fried chicken pieces, so they are suitable for this layered salad. 6. Cool the hard-boiled eggs under a stream of cold water, then leave them in cold water for five minutes. 7. Place the cooked potatoes and carrots onto a flat plate so they cool down faster. 8. Finely chop the pickled cucumbers. 9. Peel the eggs and chop them finely. You can even slightly blend them in a blender. 10. While everything is cooling, let's sauté the mushrooms. Mushrooms cook quickly—just 10–15 minutes. Chop them finely. Season with salt and pepper while cooking. 11. Now prepare the salad bowl in which you plan to serve the "Chrysanthemum" chicken salad. We will layer all the ingredients, spreading mayonnaise on each layer. Don't use too much mayonnaise, or the salad will become overly rich. 12. The first layer is the sautéed mushrooms. The second layer is boiled potato, grated on a coarse grater. The third layer is the chopped pickled cucumbers. The fourth layer is boiled carrot, also grated on a coarse grater. The fifth layer is the finely chopped chicken. The sixth layer is the minced eggs. I hope you haven't forgotten to spread mayonnaise on each layer? 13. Now sprinkle the "Chrysanthemum" chicken salad with grated cheese on top. 14. Your beautiful onion "Chrysanthemum" should have bloomed by now. Use it to decorate the salad. Serve chilled.
