Salad
Description
Minimum effort — excellent result. The base of this New Year's salad consists of pork hearts, boiled eggs, and pickled onions; these ingredients will make the "Christmas tree" truly hearty. I really love the combination of meat and fruits (kiwi pairs perfectly with pork hearts and mayonnaise)—this is exactly what a festive menu needs! We'll use dill for decoration (to resemble pine branches). As for other decorative details of the New Year's salad, they will include kiwi slices, mayonnaise (for the garland), rowan berries (as ornaments), and you can also use diced red pepper or pomegranate seeds. Try my New Year's salad. It can be served right away.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients. Let's get started!
- 2
Step 2

Peel the onion, slice it thinly into half-rings, and place in a deep plate or bowl. Pour vinegar over it and let marinate for 10–15 minutes. I prefer my onion slightly sweet, so I also add a pinch of sugar to it, but this is optional.
- 3
Step 3

Cut the pork hearts into cubes.
- 4
Step 4

Peel the boiled eggs and cut them into cubes.
- 5
Step 5

Rinse the pickled onion under cold water, squeeze it by hand, and place it in a salad bowl.
- 6
Step 6

Add mayonnaise, salt, and ground black pepper.
- 7
Step 7

Mix the salad. It can be stored in this form for several hours before serving at the festive table.
- 8
Step 8

Arrange the salad on one large salad plate or two small ones in the shape of Christmas trees.
- 9
Step 9

Peel the kiwi, cut it in half, then slice each half thinly. Cover the entire salad with the slices.
- 10
Step 10

Garnish with dill, imitating fir branches, and any berries (pomegranate, guelder-rose).
- 11
Step 11

The salad is ready!
- 12
Step 12

Optionally, you can make a mayonnaise garland on the Christmas tree. Happy New Year!
