Description

When I was a child, New Year's was my favorite holiday. And one of the main features of the festive table, as I clearly remember, was always the "New Year's Clock" salad (I know some call it differently—"New Year's Chimes"). It stood in the center of the table and, by tradition, was served onto plates only after midnight. Well, let's reminisce about childhood and make the "New Year's Clock" salad once again. In my opinion, it's a very original way to decorate the holiday table with a delicious and hearty salad. Read on for my recipe.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Boil the chicken fillet in salted water until cooked. Hard boil the eggs, and dry the walnuts in a preheated oven for 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Finely chop the chicken breast and place it on the bottom of a flat plate; you can optionally garnish it with salad leaves.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Peel the eggs and separate the yolks from the whites. Mash the yolks with a fork and spread them as the second layer. Spread mayonnaise on top. Finely chop the prunes and place them over the yolks. Again, lightly coat with a small amount of mayonnaise. Grate the hard cheese on a fine grater and spread it as the next layer.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Grind the walnuts in a blender or crush them in a mortar. Spread over the salad and coat with mayonnaise.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Grate the egg whites on a fine grater and spread them as the final layer. Decorate the salad to resemble a clock. You can cut the hands and numbers out of carrots; it will look very beautiful. The "New Year Clocks" salad is ready! Happy New Year!
