Salad with apple
Description
I found the recipe for "Mimosa" salad with apple in my wife's cookbook. I became interested and decided to prepare it. It seemed to me that this salad would especially appeal to children, as it has a slight sweetness and a bit of crunch. I was not mistaken! The kids were delighted. The adults too. So I highly recommend you make it! 1. First, boil the potatoes and carrots in their skins. 2. At the same time, place the eggs in a pot to boil. 3. Let the cooked ingredients cool down. Don't forget to rinse the eggs under cold water. 4. While the vegetables are cooling, finely chop the onion. Pour boiling water over it and let it sit for 10 minutes. This will remove all the bitterness from the onion. 5. Once the vegetables and eggs have cooled, peel them. 6. Grate the carrots and potatoes on a fine grater. Please use a grater—do not use blenders or mixers, otherwise you'll end up with sticky puree, which is completely unsuitable for "Mimosa" salad. 7. Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Grate the whites on a coarse grater and the yolks on a fine one. 8. Transfer the canned tuna to a plate and mash it with a fork. 9. Now prepare your serving bowl. We'll start layering the "Mimosa" salad with apple. By the way, it's better not to grate the apple in advance, otherwise it will darken and the salad won't look as attractive. 10. Each layer, except the top one (the yolks), will be coated with mayonnaise. I'll warn you now so I don't have to repeat it. 11. The first layer is potatoes. Carefully spread them evenly across the bottom, making sure there are no hard lumps. 12. The second layer is canned tuna. By the way, you can use any other canned fish instead of tuna. Tuna has simply become a traditional ingredient in "Mimosa" salad. 13. Next comes the onion. 14. Then add the egg whites. The delicate whites will spread easily over the entire surface of the salad, making it simple to spread mayonnaise over them. 15. Now add the carrots. Just like the grated potatoes, boiled carrots can clump together. Make sure this doesn't happen. Season the carrots with salt. 16. Finally, our key ingredient—apples. Peel the apple, grate the flesh on a coarse grater, and immediately place it in an even layer over the mayonnaise covering the carrots. 17. The final layer is the yolks. Cover the mayonnaise layer over the apples completely and generously with the yolks. And there you have it—your delicious and unusual "Mimosa" salad with apple is ready!
