Tuna Salad
Description
Minimum effort — excellent result. Canned tuna is in no way inferior to fresh tuna in terms of nutritional benefits. It contains the same Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids essential for the cardiovascular system and brain function. Therefore, using canned tuna in dishes is a smart choice. "Mimosa" salad is probably the most popular salad made with canned tuna. This delicious and tender salad is often served at festive tables. But believe me, it's so simple to prepare that you can make it even on weekdays. 1. First, boil the potatoes, carrots, and eggs. It's better to cook the vegetables in their skins and the eggs until hard-boiled. 2. Place the cooked vegetables on a flat plate and let them cool. Cool the eggs under a stream of cold water. 3. Peel the onion and finely chop it. 4. Transfer the canned tuna from the can to a plate and mash it with a fork. 5. Peel the eggs, potatoes, and carrots. Separate the egg whites from the yolks. 6. Grate the egg whites on a coarse grater, and the yolks, potatoes, and carrots on a fine grater. Naturally, place all ingredients into separate bowls. 7. Prepare a nice salad bowl. The first layer is potatoes. Try to spread them evenly, avoiding lumps. Season with salt and cover with mayonnaise. 8. The second layer is canned tuna. 9. Immediately place the chopped onion on top of the tuna. There's no need to spread mayonnaise over the tuna, as it's quite juicy. However, you can cover the onion with mayonnaise. 10. Next, add the egg whites, spreading them evenly over the entire surface of the salad, and cover with mayonnaise. 11. On top of the whites, add the carrots. Like potatoes, carrots can clump together, so make sure they are evenly distributed. Carefully spread a layer of mayonnaise on top. 12. The final touch—generously sprinkle the entire "Mimosa" tuna salad with the grated egg yolks! Garnish the salad with fresh herbs or a composition of other vegetables. Season with pepper to taste. Enjoy! The salad can be served immediately.
