Description

Perfect for everyday meals. Chum salmon is my favorite fish. I often cook it fresh, but canned chum salmon is just as nutritious and delicious. Chum salmon is rich in proteins essential for the human body, vitamins A and B, as well as minerals found in all fish—zinc, phosphorus, and potassium. Fish should definitely be part of your diet! It can be used in soups, hot dishes, and wonderful festive salads like the "Mimosa" salad with chum salmon. I think I've already convinced you—let's move on to preparation. 1. Start by boiling the carrots, potatoes, and eggs. It's better to cook the vegetables in their skins. Once cooked, set them aside to cool. 2. While the vegetables and eggs are cooling, peel and finely chop the onion. If you'd like to remove the onion's bitterness, pour boiling water over it and let it sit for ten minutes. 3. Take the chum salmon out of the can. Drain the liquid, transfer the fish to a bowl, and mash it thoroughly with a fork. 4. Once the eggs and vegetables have cooled down, peel the eggs and separate the whites from the yolks. First, grate the yolks on a fine grater, then grate the whites on a coarse grater into a separate bowl. 5. Peel the potatoes and carrots. Grate them separately on a fine grater into different bowls. 6. Prepare a salad bowl. The first layer will be the salmon. 7. Spread the salmon evenly, sprinkle with chopped onion, and gently coat the onion with mayonnaise. Don't pour too much—better to evenly spread one tablespoon. 8. The second layer is potato. Never use a blender or mixer for the potato—this will turn it into puree. We need fluffy, grated potato. Spread it evenly and coat with mayonnaise. 9. Next comes the carrot layer. Spread it and coat with mayonnaise as well. 10. Now add the egg whites. Use a generous amount of mayonnaise on this layer to help form the decorative shape. 11. Place sprigs of parsley (without leaves) on top. Sprinkle the grated egg yolks over the top ends of the sprigs where the leaves would normally be. This will create a mimosa bush effect—very beautiful. And there you have it—an amazing, beautifully decorated "Mimosa" salad with chum salmon! Try it and enjoy. Decorate as desired and serve.
