Step 1

1. The recipe for preparing the Marseille salad is surprisingly simple. First, cut the ham into medium-sized cubes.
- 2
Step 2

2. Wash and dry the cucumbers. If the skin is too tough, it's better to peel it off. Cut the cucumbers into medium-sized cubes.
- 3
Step 3

3. Wash the green onions, dry them, and finely chop.
- 4
Step 4

4. Drain the green peas in a colander and discard the excess liquid. Let them dry slightly. In a salad bowl, combine the ham, cucumbers, green onions, and peas.
- 5
Step 5

5. Carrots in this salad can be used in three ways—raw, boiled, or roasted. In any case, they should be thoroughly washed, peeled, and cut into cubes. Add to the salad bowl with the other ingredients.
- 6
Step 6

6. Remove the crusts from the bread and cut it into squares. Place on a baking sheet and put in the oven for just a few minutes to lightly brown. If desired, you can sprinkle with a drop of vegetable oil and dried herbs.
- 7
Step 7

7. Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, mix sour cream and mustard. Season with pepper to taste and, if desired, add dried herbs.
- 8
Step 8

8. Dress the salad and mix thoroughly.
- 9
Step 9

9. Remove the toasted croutons and let them cool slightly. The homemade Marseille salad is ready. All that's left is to add the croutons and serve.
