Cod liver salad
Description
A simple dish to prepare. I layer the salad, but you can mix it instead—just make sure to chop all ingredients finely. I use quail eggs, but you can substitute regular chicken eggs, cutting each one into 4 pieces. I won't go on for long, so let's get started. Serve chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
I boil quail eggs: place them in a saucepan and cook for 5 minutes after boiling. I cool the eggs, peel them, then cut in half.
- 2
Step 2
In a separate saucepan, I boil the potatoes and let them cool, then cut them into cubes. I finely chop the onion and pour boiling water over it to remove the bitterness.
- 3
Step 3
I cut the cucumbers and processed cheese into cubes.
- 4
Step 4
Open the cans of cod liver and drain the oil, then mash the liver with a fork.
- 5
Step 5
I layer the salad: a layer of potatoes, cheese, onion, cucumbers, and cod liver. I spread mayonnaise between each layer, except the last one.
- 6
Step 6
Finely chop the green onion and sprinkle it over the salad. Garnish the salad with quail egg halves and olives.
