Onion salad with vinegar
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Don't rush to serve the freshly prepared onion salad; let it chill for at least 1 hour so the vinegar can neutralize the vegetable's bitterness and make the onion slices softer and juicier. If desired, you can prepare the salad in advance and store it in the refrigerator, tightly covered with a lid or wrapped in plastic wrap. Serve chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients.

Step 2

Peel the onion, rinse it, and slice thinly into half-rings, placing the slices into a bowl or salad dish. If you don't like the bitterness of raw onion, pour boiling water over the slices at this stage, then drain the liquid. Rinse fresh dill or parsley, chop finely, and add to the bowl.

Step 3

Add salt and ground black pepper.

Step 4

Pour in the table vinegar and vegetable oil—preferably cold-pressed olive oil. Mix all the contents of the container thoroughly. If desired, chill the salad in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, covering it with plastic wrap to prevent other foods from absorbing the onion aroma.
