Pasta salad
Description
The recipe won't take much time. There are several American salads made with pasta as a base. Many people are skeptical about such dishes. But I don't recommend rushing to judgment. You should always try something first before deciding whether you like it or not. In my opinion, this salad deserves attention. I prepared it for breakfast, and all my family enjoyed it. My daughter liked it the most. Try making this American-style salad. I think you'll like it. Serve it at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

To prepare the salad, take ground beef, pasta (macaroni or another small pasta variety), smoked bacon, onion, mayonnaise, mustard, a little tomato paste, broth, salad leaves, tomatoes, vegetable oil, butter, hard cheese, and spices.
- 2
Step 2

Pour a little vegetable oil into a frying pan. Chop the smoked bacon and fry it in the oil. We add oil to allow the bacon to brown slightly, but it should not turn into chips. It should remain soft. Frying will take about 3 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Place the bacon in a separate bowl. We'll fry the patties in the same oil. Form patties from the meat mixture (do not salt the meat mixture). Sear on one side. Season the raw side of the patty with salt and pepper. Flip the patty to the other side. This is done so that the patty won't release its meat juices during frying and will remain juicy. Cook the patties until fully done.

Step 4

Bring water to a boil. Cook the pasta in salted water until done. Drain the water, reserving a little (about 3-4 tablespoons).
- 5
Step 5

Cut the tomatoes into small cubes, but not too finely. Cherry tomatoes are ideal, but I don't have any today, so I'm using small regular tomatoes. Cut the salad leaves into thin strips. Finely chop the onion.
- 6
Step 6

Prepare the sauce. Mix several tablespoons of mayonnaise, ½ teaspoon of tomato sauce (ketchup), 1 teaspoon of mustard, add a little vinegar and a couple of tablespoons of the water used to boil the pasta, salt, and spices. Mix well. Finely chop the pickles and add them to the sauce, then stir. The result should be a slightly thin, homogeneous sauce.
- 7
Step 7

Add bacon, cutlets (it's better to crumble them slightly), onion, lettuce leaves, tomatoes, and sauce to the cooked pasta.
- 8
Step 8

Mix. Add a handful of grated cheese and mix again.
- 9
Step 9

Place a portion of the salad on a flat plate, generously sprinkled with grated cheese.
- 10
Step 10

Serve the dish immediately. This salad can be eaten both cold and hot, but I personally prefer it freshly prepared, warm/hot. Although, of course, it's a matter of taste. Try it!
