Description

A simple dish to prepare. Despite its simplicity, this "Cuckoo's Nest" salad recipe is one of our family's favorites—probably due to the wonderful combination of liver and eggs. We make it quite often, as it's very easy to prepare and all ingredients are readily available in any store. The best thing about this salad is that it's equally suitable for an everyday dinner or a festive table. Plus, it's quite filling, so no one will go hungry—in short, a universal recipe for liver lovers! So, while you prepare all the necessary ingredients, I'll tell you how to make the Cuckoo's Nest salad quickly and deliciously. 1) First, we need to boil the liver in slightly salted water until fully cooked. Once cooled, cut the liver into thin strips. 2) Peel the carrots and grate them on a coarse grater, preferably a Korean-style carrot grater. 3) Hard-boil the chicken and quail eggs. Cut the chicken eggs into thin strips. 4) Now place the sliced liver, grated carrots, and chicken eggs into a deep bowl. Add corn and mix in mayonnaise. Combine all ingredients, season with salt and pepper to taste, and mix again. Shape the salad into a mound, making a small indentation at the top. Place the boiled quail eggs into the center of the indentation. Now our Cuckoo's Nest salad is ready to be served. Enjoy! Serve chilled.
