Salad
Description
An easy-to-prepare dish. This beautiful and delicious salad will be a wonderful addition to your New Year's table, Easter, and other celebrations. You can use practically any salad as a base, but the distinctive feature of the popular "Nest" salad is its presentation. Everyone loves fried potatoes, and french-fried potato straws are especially tasty! We'll shape the salad like a nest, and your guests will surely remember this dish. All ingredients go perfectly together—I highly recommend it. Serve chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients. Boil the eggs in advance and let them cool. Thaw the chicken breast, rinse it, and dry with a paper towel.
- 2
Step 2

Slice the potatoes into thin strips or grate them using a Korean carrot shredder. Cover with cold water and thoroughly rinse off the starch; you can repeat this process 2-3 times. Then drain through a sieve, spread out on a clean kitchen towel, and dry well.
- 3
Step 3

Cut the chicken breast lengthwise with a sharp knife (but not all the way through) and open it like a book. Rub with salt and spices, pour lemon juice over it, and let it marinate for about 20 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

In a saucepan or cauldron, heat the frying oil and fry the potatoes in small batches until golden brown. Place the cooked potatoes on a paper towel and season with salt to taste.
- 5
Step 5

Place the chicken breast on a hot skillet with oil, cover with a lid, and cook over medium heat until done, turning once. You can add a little water during cooking so it finishes steaming.
- 6
Step 6

Cut the cooked chicken breast into small cubes and transfer to a salad bowl. Add diced boiled eggs, cucumbers, and onions. You can scald the onion with boiling water beforehand to remove bitterness. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Season the salad with salt and pepper, add mayonnaise, and mix well.
- 7
Step 7

Place the salad on a serving dish in the shape of a mound and make a small indentation in the center.
- 8
Step 8

Garnish the salad on all sides with potato sticks.
- 9
Step 9

Place dill sprigs and boiled quail eggs into the indentation. The "Nest" salad is ready!
- 10
Step 10

The salad turns out not only impressive but also very tasty.
