Salad
Description
Perfect for everyday meals, this unusual salad will undoubtedly be a highlight at any celebration. If preparing the salad for children, substitute mayonnaise with sour cream. Preparation: Place chicken fillet in a saucepan, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Cook for about 20 minutes until done. Let cool, then finely chop. Finely chop onion, pour boiling water over it, and let stand for 10 minutes. Drain the water and rinse the onion under cold water—this step removes the bitterness. Grate egg whites and yolks separately on a fine grater. Finely grate the cheese and apples. Chop walnuts finely, setting aside a few whole nuts for decoration. On a flat serving dish, arrange the egg whites in an oval shape, lightly salt, and spread with mayonnaise. On top of the whites, evenly place the chopped chicken and cover with mayonnaise. Spread the onion over the mayonnaise, then add the apple and cover with mayonnaise again. Sprinkle with grated cheese, reserving 1 tablespoon for decoration. Spread mayonnaise over the cheese layer. Place the grated yolks on top and cover with mayonnaise. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Use whole walnuts to form the turtle's legs, and shape the head from the reserved cheese. Insert black peppercorns into the head for eyes. Decorate the turtle with chopped herbs and flowers made from egg white and cheese as desired. Garnish to taste and serve.
