Caesar Salad with Chicken and Croutons

Description

Caesar salad has many variations: some people add tomatoes, others include olives and lemon pieces, while some use shrimp and other seafood. However, chicken and egg are mandatory ingredients in this salad. The dish gets its vibrant appearance from lettuce leaves. To further enhance the flavor and add color, I also include pieces of tomatoes in the salad. The dressing for Caesar salad is very important; preparing it correctly probably matters more than the salad's ingredients themselves. The original Caesar salad dressing is truly unique and distinctive, made with fresh egg, lemon juice, garlic, mustard, olive oil, and Worcestershire sauce. Nowadays, it's rare to find the dressing made with raw egg; more often, people use only lemon juice, mustard, and olive oil. This is exactly the version I suggest.

    6. Prepare the dressing: mix freshly squeezed lemon juice, mustard, and a little olive oil in a small bowl. Pour the prepared mixture over the salad and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Although sesame seeds are not part of the classic Caesar salad, they go very well with the vegetables and add a pleasant flavor to the salad. Serve the salad as an appetizer before the main course or as a main dish.
