
Fish soup with capers
Description
The recipe won't take much time. All recipes for soups made with canned fish can be described in two or three words—quick, inexpensive, and delicious. You can use any canned fish for these soups—packed in their own juice or in tomato sauce. Serve the soup hot.

1. For preparing the soup, use water or fish broth, 1 liter. Bring the water or broth to a boil. Wash and peel the vegetables. Cut the potatoes into thin strips. Remove the core from the red pepper and slice it into thin strips. Dice the onion finely. Heat the oil and sauté the onion and pepper in it.

2. Do not discard the juice from canned fish. Add potatoes to boiling broth or water. After the potatoes have boiled for about 5 minutes, add the fried vegetables.

3. Simmer the soup over low heat. Add the canned fish to the pot together with its juice. Season with salt, pepper, bay leaf, and thyme to taste. When the potatoes are cooked, add the capers to the soup. Be careful with salt, as capers are naturally salty. It's better to adjust the saltiness at the end.
