The recipe won't take much time. Along with other traditional Russian soups, solyanka has always been and will remain one of the all-time favorite dishes. Almost any home cook knows how to prepare it on the stovetop, but today I'd like to show you how to make chicken solyanka in a multicooker. This recipe is quite simple, with a minimal set of ingredients, resulting in a light yet very tasty soup. So, if you've recently bought a multicooker and aren't ready yet to try more complex or elaborate dishes in it, I suggest you give this easy chicken solyanka recipe a try—you'll definitely manage it.

    First of all, we need to cook the barley. Rinse it thoroughly, place it into the multicooker bowl, pour in water, set the "Stewing" mode, and cook the grain for 40 minutes.

    Wash the chicken back or any other chicken parts and, as soon as the barley is ready, place them into the pot, continuing to cook everything under the same setting for another 35–40 minutes.

    Meanwhile, peel the potatoes and carrots.

    Then slice the potatoes into small pieces.

    Grate the carrots on a coarse grater, cut the cucumbers into strips or also grate them on a grater.

    When the chicken and barley are cooked, remove the backbone and separate the meat from the bones. Return the meat to the pot, add the chopped vegetables, pour in the pickle brine and water if needed. Season the broth with salt and pepper to taste, cover the lid, turn on the "Stewing" mode again, and cook the soup for another 50-60 minutes. Serve the finished soup with sour cream.
