
Pomor fish soup
Description
Pomor fish soup got its name from the Pomors, a people who lived long ago on the shores of the White and Barents Seas. They used to catch and prepare this soup using fresh cod. But I assure you, it also turns out very tasty when made with frozen cod and canned cod liver. The soup is ready to serve.

Prepare the ingredients for making fish soup.

Grate the carrots on a grater and finely chop the onion. Place them in a saucepan, pour in sunflower oil, and sauté the vegetables until the onion becomes translucent.

Add the sliced potatoes and water. Cook the vegetables until almost done.

Cut the cod fillet and place it in a saucepan. Season with salt and pepper, add bay leaf.

Simmer the fish soup over the lowest heat for another 10-15 minutes.

Then pour hot milk into the pot and add the cod liver. Bring the broth to a boil and turn off the stove.

Add chopped green onions to the soup and let the broth steep for 30 minutes.
