Moqueca
Description
Perfect for lunch. Brazilian fish soup Moqueca is specially created for gourmets, vegetarians, and lovers of extravagant cuisine. Moqueca is quite simple, quick, and easy to prepare—ready in just 30 minutes—and brings joy that lasts all day! This soup may seem exotic to a Russian person, but in Brazil it is a very popular and widespread dish—people eat it and love it :) My family also enjoys it—though not too often, we still cook it. The recipe for moqueca is wonderfully simple. I hope you'll enjoy this Brazilian fish soup too. The soup is ready to serve.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Cut the cod fillet into pieces, season with salt and pepper, and pour lemon juice over it. Let it marinate, and in the meantime, prepare the other ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Finely chop the onion and slice the peppers into strips.
- 3
Step 3

Pour oil into a heavy-bottomed skillet and sauté the onion and pepper in it.
- 4
Step 4

While the vegetables are frying, slice the tomatoes.
- 5
Step 5

Add the tomatoes to the frying pan, mix.
- 6
Step 6

Stirring constantly, sauté the vegetables for about 10 minutes over low heat. Then place half of the vegetables onto a plate and add the fish.
- 7
Step 7

On top, we place the vegetables that have just been taken out. That's the trick :)
- 8
Step 8

Pour in coconut milk, add sweet paprika. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover with a lid, and simmer for about 15–20 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Then we taste. If needed, add salt, lemon juice, and it's ready! :)
- 10
Step 10

Serve mokka soup with separately cooked rice and white French bread.
