Description

The salad is quick and easy to prepare. In my family, no celebration during the cold season goes by without this salad. Every homemaker has her own recipe, but I'd like to share with you my version of "Mimosa" salad with processed cheese. This is how my mom makes it, and I really love it. 1. First, boil all the vegetables and eggs. Cook the carrots and potatoes in their skins. 2. Open the canned fish and drain off the excess oil. Mash the fish with a fork. 3. Grate the processed cheese and mix it with mayonnaise—this will make it easier to layer into the salad. 4. Peel the cooked and cooled vegetables, then grate them separately onto individual plates using a medium or coarse grater. 5. Peel the eggs and grate the whites and yolks separately. Reserve a little of the yolks for garnish. 6. Peel the onion and cut it into small cubes. You can pour boiling water over the onion to remove its bitterness, if desired. 7. Now it's time to assemble the salad. Place the grated potatoes as the first layer on a serving dish, season with salt, and spread with mayonnaise. The second layer is the fish, then the onion. You can mix the onion with the fish. Next, add a layer of the cheese mixed with mayonnaise, followed by the egg yolks, mayonnaise, carrots (lightly salted), mayonnaise, and finally the egg whites. Do not spread the top layer with mayonnaise. 8. Place the salad in the refrigerator to chill and set. Before serving, garnish with fresh herbs and the reserved egg yolks. That's it—time to start celebrating! The salad is ready to serve.
