Chop the onion into small cubes. Sauté in a small amount of vegetable oil for a couple of minutes until golden.

Peel the carrots and slice them. Cut the celery stalk and add the vegetables to the pot. Sauté for a couple of minutes.

If necessary, peel the pumpkin and remove the seeds. Cut into medium slices. Transfer to a saucepan. Add peeled garlic.
