Cream of tomato soup

Description
The recipe won't take much time. A pleasant, soft, creamy tomato soup with cream. The acidity present in tomatoes is neutralized by a pinch of baking soda, making the soup tender even when using winter greenhouse tomatoes that aren't very sweet. I prefer plum tomatoes for this soup, as they have more flesh and fewer seeds. Pour into bowls and serve.

1. Sauté the onion and garlic in a pan with a bay leaf.

2. Add the chopped tomatoes to the onion.

3. Pour water into the pan and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes.

4. Blend the mixture in a blender until smooth.

5. Melt the butter and milk in a deep saucepan. Add the starch and stir, breaking up lumps.

6. Add the tomato sauce to the starch, mix the cream soup. Let it boil and serve.
