Crab salad
Description
Decorate and create the salad with your family and friends — the symbol of the New Year will bring you all together at one table! You can make the top layer with grated carrots or leave it uncovered — it's up to you. The main thing is for the salad to look delicious, appetizing, and recognizable. You can boil chicken eggs in advance and also thaw the crab sticks beforehand.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Boil the chicken eggs for 12 minutes, then quickly cool them in ice water. Peel the shells off and rinse the eggs. Purchase thawed imitation crab sticks or defrost them 1–2 hours before cooking, then remove the packaging.
- 2
Step 2

Separate the chicken eggs into yolks and whites, setting aside 3-4 whites—they will be used to make the top layer of the "horse." Dice the remaining yolks and whites into small cubes and place the chopped mixture into a deep bowl or salad bowl.
- 3
Step 3

Open the can of corn, drain the marinade, and add the corn to the container.
- 4
Step 4

Cut the crab sticks, peeled from their wrapper, into small cubes and add to the other ingredients.
- 5
Step 5

Spread mayonnaise of any fat content, season with salt and pepper. Gently mix everything so that all the ingredients are coated with mayonnaise.
- 6
Step 6

Grate the previously set aside boiled egg whites on a fine grater, add salt, and mix in mayonnaise. Stir well — this will be the top layer of the salad.
- 7
Step 7

Carefully arrange it in the shape of a horse figure on a plate, platter, or board.
- 8
Step 8

Then carefully cover the salad with the protein mixture, moistening your hands with water and pressing it down slightly.
- 9
Step 9

Decorate the white horse with dill sprigs to form the tail and mane. If desired, you can make the mane and tail from braided sulguni cheese, either salted or smoked—simply unravel the braid into strands. The "White Horse" salad for New Year's is now complete! Place it in the refrigerator and serve chilled. You may optionally decorate it with other ingredients. Happy New Year to you!
