Greek cucumber salad
Description
A simple dish to prepare. Greek cuisine is amazingly rich in simple and delicious dishes made from fresh and roasted vegetables. Horiatiki, better known simply as "Greek salad," tzatziki, melitzanosalata made from eggplants — these are famous worldwide. The recipe I'd like to share with you today is more of a variation on Greek cuisine: the base of this dish is yogurt and cucumbers (which links it to tzatziki), but in addition, it also includes feta. This traditional Greek cheese pairs wonderfully with vegetables and gives the salad a special tangy flavor and aroma. This salad is delicious on its own, served with fresh flatbreads (and hot sweet tea, as strange as that may sound!), and also as a side dish for hearty meat, poultry, or fish dishes. Serve chilled.
