Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the ingredients for the soup. If you need a larger portion of soup, use a whole chicken. I cooked it for 2 liters, so I took the meatiest part of the chicken—the breast with a wing. Wash the chicken part and remove any remaining feathers, debris, etc.

Step 2

Sort the peas carefully and rinse them under clean water. If you need to cook the soup quickly, soak the peas in cold water beforehand—for example, in the evening. In the morning, change the water, and they will cook quickly.
- 3
Step 3

Place the chicken and peas in a saucepan, pour in water, and cook until the peas are soft. Keep the heat at a minimum, and season with salt to taste during cooking.
- 4
Step 4

Peel the vegetables. Finely chop the onion and grate the carrot on a coarse grater.
- 5
Step 5

Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes or julienne strips.
- 6
Step 6

Test the peas for doneness. If they are soft, add the onion, carrots, potatoes, spices, and cook the soup for 25 minutes.

Step 7

At the end of cooking the soup, add finely chopped dill. Adjust the soup's salt to taste. Simmer for a couple more minutes, then turn off the heat. The soup is ready!
