Step 1

1. First, you need to prepare the pepper. If time allows, it's best to do this about 2 hours before the main cooking process. Wash the pepper thoroughly and dry it. Then roast it over fire until the skin turns almost black. After that, wrap it in aluminum foil and let it simmer in a warm place.

Step 2

2. The next preparation step involves the onion. It should be peeled, sliced into thin half-rings (or full rings if the onion is small), and then covered with balsamic vinegar. Of course, if balsamic vinegar is not available, you can use any other vinegar in this diet squid salad recipe.

Step 3

3. Squid can be boiled (very briefly, so they don't become tough) or grilled, for example. Then slice thinly into strips.
- 4
Step 4

4. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon or lime.

Step 5

5. Remove the peppers from the foil and carefully peel off the skin—it will come off very easily. Then remove the seeds and slice the peppers into strips. Place the peppers and squid into a salad bowl. Add a pinch of salt and pepper. Drizzle with a little olive oil.

Step 6

6. Place the marinated onion in a salad bowl and add lemon juice. This is quite a standard dressing, but if desired, you can vary the homemade squid salad with spices or sauce, for example.
- 7
Step 7

7. Gently mix all the contents of the salad bowl.

Step 8

8. Wash fresh parsley, dry it, tear by hand, and place on top. The simple recipe for a dietary squid salad is complete. It's best to put the salad bowl in the refrigerator for at least 25–30 minutes, then serve.
