Broccoli in kefir

60 min4 serv.20 февр. 2026 г.

Description

You can first boil the broccoli until half-cooked, and then stew it in kefir. But I prefer to cook everything together. That way, all the juices remain, and that's exactly where the most vitamins are! You can stir the dish while cooking. If you want it to cook faster, increase the heat. You might need to add some water.

Instructions

    Step 1

Broccoli has become an everyday food for me lately. Cauliflower too, by the way. I rinse my favorite little green trees, reduced in size, under running water. Then I separate them into individual florets and cut them into even smaller pieces.

I cut the chicken fillet into small pieces. I press the garlic using a garlic press. I finely chop the onion. I mix the garlic, onion, and chicken fillet together with salt and pepper. I pour kefir over everything and marinate for about 15 minutes.

    Step 3

I take a deep frying pan and place it on the stove. I arrange the chopped broccoli florets in the pan. Then I spread the mixture of chicken fillet with onion and garlic over the broccoli, distributing it evenly. I cover the pan with a lid and simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes. I open a can of green peas. If you have dried peas, not the soft variety, add them at the very beginning of cooking. But my peas are soft. I'll add them to the pan 5 minutes before the dish is ready, so they just warm up and absorb the juices.

It took me about an hour to prepare this dish. The actual stewing took no more than half an hour. So it's very nutritious and diet-friendly. I recommend it to everyone watching their figure!
