Borscht in a multicooker
Description
Perfect for lunch. Everyone loves a real classic borscht, both adults and children. But can you make a delicious borscht in a multicooker? I must admit, the result is excellent and the borscht is almost indistinguishable from the one cooked on the stove. Thanks to the multicooker's even heating, the borscht simmers as if in a traditional Russian oven. Following this simple step-by-step recipe, you'll get a fragrant and rich borscht for your home lunch table. Serve with fresh herbs and sour cream.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients from the list. I will be cooking borscht with beef, but you can use any meat of your choice. Both pure meat and meat on the bone will work.
- 2
Step 2

Turn on the multicooker. Set the "Frying" mode. Pour in vegetable oil and heat it. Add the meat cut into pieces.
- 3
Step 3

Fry until the liquid has evaporated and a light golden crust forms.
- 4
Step 4

Add the diced onion and grated carrot. If necessary, add a little more vegetable oil.
- 5
Step 5

Fry the meat with vegetables for 5 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

Add the grated beet and cook for another 15 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Then add tomato paste, sugar, salt, and spices to taste (I used a ready-made borscht mix). Pour in the vinegar.
- 8
Step 8

Cook for another 3 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Add the diced potatoes.
- 10
Step 10

Also add finely shredded cabbage to the bowl.
- 11
Step 11

Pour in boiling water (the amount of water depends on the desired soup thickness), add diced garlic and bay leaf. Adjust seasoning with salt. Set the "Soup" or "Stewing" mode (depending on your appliance). Cook until the sound signal.
- 12
Step 12

Then leave it on the "Keep Warm" setting for another 15-20 minutes. Borscht in the multicooker is ready.
- 13
Step 13

Ladle the borscht into bowls and serve. Rich, delicious, and filling! What could be better, especially with salted pork, black bread, and green onions!
