
Borscht with dumplings
Description
There are no special tricks in preparing borscht with dumplings, but this dish helps save money and time. There's no need to simmer broths or buy expensive meat. The borscht turns out to be both light and meaty at the same time.

To prepare Borscht with Dumplings, we need to peel the vegetables. Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes. Do not cut them too small, as tiny cubes will overcook in the finished borscht. Transfer the potatoes to a pot, pour in 2 liters of water, and place on the stove.

Slice the carrots thinly by hand or grate on a coarse grater. The choice of cutting method doesn't matter much, the main thing is that it should be convenient and pleasant to eat.

Finely chop the onion. I use a blender.

Sauté the onion in vegetable oil.

Add the carrots and simmer everything together under a lid, stirring occasionally.

Add the beet and tomato. Simmer everything together, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender.

You can chop garlic and fresh herbs. Mix everything together. Adjust seasoning to taste and turn off the heat.
