
Beef Borscht
Description
The soup is easy and quick to prepare. I always add sour cream to borscht. It not only enhances the flavor of the borscht, but even highlights its taste notes. The soup is ready to serve.

Pour the beef broth into a saucepan. If you have less than 2 liters of broth, add water to make up the difference.

Grate the beet on a grater.

Grate the carrot on a coarse grater.

Sauté chopped onion in vegetable oil.

Add the carrots to the onion and fry everything together.

Add 50% of the beet to the boiling broth. Cook it separately. Sauté the remaining 50% with onion and carrot.

Add tomato to the vegetables in the pan. Simmer everything over medium heat.

Beetroot will lose its color in boiling broth. Add the sliced potatoes.

The potatoes will boil for 5-7 minutes. Add the chopped white cabbage and the tomato sauté we prepared.

When all the borscht ingredients are fully cooked, we rinse and chop the prunes. Add them to the boiling broth. Add salt and spices. Cook for about 1-2 minutes, then turn off the heat.

The borscht is ready. At the end of cooking, with the stove already turned off, you can squeeze several garlic cloves into the borscht.
