Borscht
Description
The soup is simple and quick to prepare. Before serving, you can add a portion of sour cream and fresh herbs to each bowl. Of course, borscht is not a rare dish by any means. Everyone has their own way of making it. But still, I highly recommend trying this version. Ladle into bowls and serve.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
First, you need to prepare the broth. Wash the beef, ribs, and chicken. Place everything into a pot, cover with clean water, and put on the stove. Once it comes to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for a couple of hours until cooked.
- 2
Step 2
Then carefully remove the meat and strain the broth.
- 3
Step 3
In a frying pan with vegetable oil, sauté the onion until translucent, then add the carrots, tomatoes, and beet.
- 4
Step 4
Fry the vegetables over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Then transfer them to a pot.
- 5
Step 5
Shred the cabbage finely and add it to the broth as well.
- 6
Step 6
Cut the meat into portion pieces and place back into the broth. Pass the fat through a meat grinder together with garlic. Add to the pot.
- 7
Step 7
Salt and pepper to taste, add spices if desired. Mix thoroughly and place in a preheated oven. Yes, the borscht will simmer in the oven instead of being cooked on the stovetop.

Step 8
About 45 minutes at 150 degrees—and your borscht will be ready.
